This listing is for a half pan, full pan or bottle cap of Prussian blue watercolor paint. Prussian blue is a clear, dark blue. It is the first synthetic pigment and has been in use by artists since its invention around the year 1706. Prussian blue is the "blue" in blueprints and cyanotypes. It is also often a staple blue in the palettes of artists because of its versatility and deep, staining color.
A small magnet can be added to the pan or cap, at no cost, to allow it to stick to any metal tin, if the artist prefers. Please be sure to select that option. Bottle caps are equivalent in amount of paint to a generous full pan. This color is now offered in square metal half pans, which offer a larger surface area for bigger brushes.
Ruby Mountain Paint Company specializes in micro-batch, artisanal watercolors using pigments sourced from around the world. Our paints are always non-toxic, lovingly hand poured into whole pans, half pans, or bottle caps. We make high quality paint and art supplies for all types of artists. Each color is made from pure, artist-grade pigments and our own all natural binder formula, which includes gum arabic, local honey, and a time-honored, clove oil preservative. Each pigment is mulled by hand until it is the proper, luscious consistency. Each pan is poured once, slowly cured, then topped off so that the pans are as full as possible. Your order is packaged mindfully, using eco-friendly packaging and shipped to you from our studio in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains.
